Test your Web Messaging experience

  • Messaging

With the Conversational Cloud, you can create a custom Web Messaging experience that matches the look and feel of your brand. You design this experience in the Campaign Builder, where you can customize and manage your messaging engagements and window.

You can test the experience that you’ve created before you add the Web Tag to your website by using our simple web emulator tool. This tool also enables free trial users to talk to their pre-built concierge bot.

Test your messaging campaign

To use the Web Messaging emulator to test your messaging campaign, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the following link: https://developers.liveperson.com/web-messaging/emulator.html
  2. Type your Conversational Cloud account number into the box and click “Show window”.

Free trial user experience

As a free trial user, you can test the messaging experience by talking to your pre-configured Concierge Bot. The first time you log in to your trial account the welcome bot will greet you.

To test the default messaging campaign for your free trial account, select I want to talk to my concierge bot.

The Concierge Bot will then open in a new window. Wait for the “Message us” engagement to load on the right side and then click on it to open the messaging window.

Troubleshooting

Issue: The web emulator is displaying the wrong engagement or campaign.

Solution: If you have multiple web engagements, the emulator will display the campaigns that are currently published on your account. If you have multiple campaigns published with engagements that are configured to appear in the same position on the screen, the campaign with the higher priority will take precedence.

Issue: No messaging engagement loaded for my account, instead I see this Contact us form.

Solution: If this occurs, you may be testing an account that doesn’t have a messaging campaign configured. Click here to learn more about creating campaigns in the Conversational Cloud, or create a new free trial account with a default messaging campaign.

Issue: My engagement isn’t appearing on the emulator page.

Solution: It may take a moment for your engagement to load. If it is still not appearing, try reloading the page or testing the experience in an incognito browser window.
